Why I Invested in Mindstate Design Labs

That name itself, resonates a lot with me “Designing A State Of Mind” :)

Mindstate Design Labs is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical startup focused on developing and commercializing psychedelic compounds such as a non-toxic variation of MDMA and a more effective variation of psilocybin to precisely design subjective psychedelic state, from treatment Resistant PTSD to intractable mental health disorders.

There remains an unmet need to treat PTSD and depression, and this team has been working on it for over 2 decades, and will focus in the future on Autism, anxiety & others. “While MDMA-assisted psychotherapy holds great promise for PTSD and other mental health disorders”, there are some side effects which Mindstate Design Labs is focusing on to address. What makes them unique is, Mindstate Design Labs approach consists of combining two or more molecules in an intentional way to design a specific psychedelic mindstate for therapeutic purposes, and more importantly taking a platform approach in the field of MDMA.

The challenges remain around therapeutic application, regulatory pathway and training, which Mindstate Design Labs is addressing through their unique lead programs. I believe they will soon successfully understand the biological basis of psychedelic experience.
